These BVW Betacam systems are the highest quality Betacam SP VCRs that were ever produced. They are built to broadcast standards for top quality performance and reliability. They have 4 channel audio and produce real multigenerational transparency, much superior to the pro - sumer 1800 and 2800 models. The Betacam SP format incorporates patents and technology developed by Bosch, and Ampex in additionto Sony. Sony manufactured all of the Betacam SP VCRS in a jointventure with Ampex and Bosch, who each contributed manyof their patents and proprietary technology into the Beta SP format resulting in it’s superior quality and performance. These machines are all internally identical and use the same parts, but some were customized for direct sales by Ampex andBosch, using each of their nameplates, their own model numbers, including some of the parts, and minor faceplate differences.
