In 1952 WRS began as a motion picture laboratory dedicated to excellence in manufacturing coupled with personalized service. Here, the founding commitment of service and quality exists as strongly as ever. That commitment is the cornerstone of our growth and future.

WRS is now a multifaceted company. The Crafton facility encompasses 213,000 square feet of clean, secure, climate controlled space in its main building in its own 43 acre industrial park. Our 29 Liebert 20 ton computer environmental control units work with conventional chilled water and steam systems to maintain constant humidity and temperature control.

From a modest beginning of three full-time employees, WRS has grown to over 330 full-time employees, competing head-to-head with the best in the professional film and video business. WRS now ranks among the 6th largest film, audio and video labs in the country, with duplication facilities in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, New York, Houston, Detroit, New England and Los Angeles, along with film and video vaults in Kearny, New Jersey, and sales offices in Washington, DC, Boston, Orlando and Cincinnati.

The Motion Picture Laboratory is capable of handling all phases of a professional film production from processing the original camera negative through all the necessary post stages to film or video release for all markets. Post services include off-line editing, negative conforming and video match back.

The 5-Suite Telecine Operation includes 3 fully digital suites to provide very high quality direct transfers to NTSC or PAL on both Rank and Bosch systems, to conventional 4 x 3 or 16 x 9 formats.

Broadcast Quality Standards Conversions with Deft motion interpolation are available in all international standards and formats including D1, D2, Digital Betacam or SP, 1", 3/4" Hi-Band, and 3/4". Standards conversions are also available in SVHS, Betacam Oxide, ½" and Beta formats.

The Industrial, Special Interest, and Home Video Duplication Department produces VHS dubs (copies) in both real time NTSC and PAL, and high speed SP, EP and PAL for all markets.

The Video Post Department utilizes both linear and non-linear systems for NTSC and PAL editing. It includes 2D and 3D Graphics using Macintosh and Silicon Graphics systems.

Audio Services for virtually all motion picture, video and audio applications, (i.e., recording, laybacks, editing, rerecording, sweetening and mixing, etc.) in a variety of digital or analog formats are available. We also offer Digital audio restoration and enhancement along with large volume audio and CD duplication.

WRS is an approved Airline Duplicator for Sony Transcom, Hughes Avicom and Matshusita Avionics systems. Worldwide formats include Hi-8, Video 8, SVHS, VHS and Beta. Multi-language dubs, manufactured in our Pittsburgh and Los Angeles plants, can be seen on every major domestic and international airline. Having two large capacity plants provides our clients unique capacity and reliability. Editing, subtitling, and language conversion services are also available.

WRS Temperature and Humidity Controlled Vaults have the capacity to store over 1,000,000 reels of client film, audio and video masters in PITTSBURGH. We have 20 additional air-conditioned vaults in Kearny, New Jersey to better serve the NEW YORK area. Top rate security procedures, bar coding, and fire protected facilities further enhance the security of our clients' assets.
